We serve about 200 members comprising major players, SMIs, SMEs and the Cottage Industries involved in various manufacturing and non-manufacturing activities (property development, logistics, retail & wholesale, IT, event management etc.). Some of the manufacturing activities FSI members are engaged in are F&B, O&G, E&E, Construction & Building Materials, Chemicals, Furniture, Textile & Garment, Shipbuilding, Plastic & Paper Packaging, Vehicle & Auto-parts.

Federation of Sabah Industries is formerly known as Federation of Sabah Manufacturers (FSM) which was formed in 1983 and subsequently registered (No. 126715M) under the Companies Act of 1965 on 11 September 1984. The new name FSI was launched in 9 November 2013, following the official approval for name-change by SSM on 4 November 2013.
