The APEC Business Travel Card (ABTC)

Was initiated by the Asia Pacific Economy Cooperation (APEC) to assist the business community who has trade relations within the APEC member countries (please see attached for the list of countries).

Some of the advantages of the card are:

Minimize time and costs incurred by businessmen in keeping up with the visa requirements to enter the countries concerned.

Allow smooth entry and exit flow at entry points in the countries concerned.

Note to Applicant:-

  1. Applicant have not been convicted of any criminal offence.
  2. Dependents of APEC card holder is not eligible to get the same facility.
  3. The card is not a privilege to work abroad but mainly for business trip.
  4. Validity of APEC Business Travet Card is three (3) years.

Processing Time

Processing time is 2-3 months depending on the approval given by member countries through the ABTC system (on-line). The ABTC will be issued after the approval granted.

Fee

Applicants will be notified through email by Jabatan imigresen Malaysia to pay a fee of RM100 and collect their cards upon approval by member countries. Please ensure you entered a valid email address when you fill in the application form [Borang Permohonan Kad perjalanan perniagaan APEC].

FSM Members who wish to apply for the card can do so by filling in the application form and submitting the duly completed form together with all supporting documents to FSM secretariat. (No payment to be enclosed yet).

The deadline for submission is March 24, 2010. FSM will help coordinate all applications and send to the Ministry of Industrial Development for further action.
